DevOps Engineer – DV Cleared

Location: London – Hybrid 50/50

Work Pattern: Full-time/Permanent

Security Clearance:  MUST POSSESS ACTIVE DV CLEARANCE

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, possess expertise in a variety of programming languages, and have hands-on experience with configuration management tools and cloud automation. The DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in optimising our development and deployment processes, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems.

Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Design and implement cloud-based solutions for application deployment, scaling, and management.

• Utilize C#, PowerShell, and JavaScript to develop and enhance automation scripts and tools.

• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle.

• Work with source control technologies, including Azure DevOps, BitBucket, and GitLab.

• Establish and maintain effective branching and merging strategies.

• Implement and manage configuration management tools and cloud automation to streamline deployment processes.

• Leverage Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) and Desired State Configuration (DSC) for system configuration.

• Enforce coding standards and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality.

• Drive best practices for the full software development life cycle, including build processes, testing, and operations.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, actively contributing to the evolution of our DevOps practices.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating new tools and methodologies as appropriate.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in DevOps or related role.

• Strong programming skills in C#, PowerShell, and JavaScript.

• Familiarity with source control systems such as Azure DevOps, BitBucket, and GitLab.

• Expertise in configuration management tools, cloud automation, Terraform, and Desired State Configuration.

• Knowledge of software engineering best practices and the full software development life cycle.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages.
