Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Data Migration Project Manager to lead a critical project involving the migration of data from Cognos to Tableau. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless transition of data, with a focus on maintaining data integrity, optimizing performance, and meeting project timelines. In addition to technical expertise, strong stakeholder management skills will be essential to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Execution:
   • Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan for the data migration from Cognos to Tableau.
   • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of project milestones and deliverables.
   • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any potential risks or roadblocks.
2. Technical Oversight:
   • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure a smooth transition of data, maintaining data quality and integrity throughout the migration process.
   • Conduct thorough testing to validate the accuracy and completeness of migrated data.
   • Work closely with IT and data teams to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
3. Stakeholder Management:
   • Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in or impacted by the data migration project.
   • Facilitate regular communication and status updates to keep stakeholders informed of project progress.
   • Proactively address concerns and manage expectations to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of data post-migration.
   • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the migration.
5. Documentation and Training:
   • Create comprehensive documentation outlining the data migration process, methodologies, and any relevant technical details.
   • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure a smooth transition to Tableau.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business).
• Proven experience managing complex data migration projects, specifically from Cognos to Tableau.
• Strong technical understanding of data structures, databases, and reporting tools.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive project success.
• Familiarity with data quality assurance and testing methodologies.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
