The Role:

We are seeking a Semantic Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving Proof of Concepts (PoCs) within the knowledge graph domain. This role is critical to the success of our Data Mesh Programme and will contribute significantly to advancing our capabilities in the Generative AI (GenAI) space.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain knowledge graphs and semantic data models.
  • Build and optimize ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies.
  • Design and execute efficient RDF-based data stores and SPARQL queries.
  • Create, test, and deploy ETL pipelines and other data engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate semantic data solutions into larger systems.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and maintain source code version control for semantic engineering projects.
  • Utilize containerized environments (e.g., Docker) to deliver scalable and reproducible solutions.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives for seamless deployments.


Requirements:

  • Expertise in semantic web technologies, including: RDF (Resource Description Framework) & SPARQL (SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language)
  • Proven experience in building and managing ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering, with proficiency in: Writing complex SQL queries & developing and managing ETL jobs
  • Hands-on experience with Python for data processing and automation.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including: Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD), source code version control (e.g., Git), infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)& Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)
